2020 NFHS Football Rule Changes

The NFHS has released their rules changes and updates for the 2020 football season.  Links to the press release and exact rules modifications are here:

2020 NFHS Rule Changes for HS Football

For this year, there are changes to:

  • Designating the team representative for penalty decisions
  • Halftime Intermission
  • 40-Second Play Clock Clarification
  • 25-Second Play CLock Clarification
  • Disconcerting act is reclassified
  • Spiking the ball to conserve time

Some minor editorial changes are also included which can be reviewed in the PDF.  2020 points of emphasis will be around sportsmanship, intentional grounding, and ineligible players downfield.  Please begin to familiarize yourself with these changes for the upcoming season.
